Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How big is the trailer that you will place at my home?

A: 28’ feet long, 8’ wide and 9’ tall, approximately 2,000 cubic feet.

Q: Do I have to be home when the trailer is placed or picked up?

A: No. However we do need clear instructions on where you want the trailer placed. SIM is not liable for any citations or fines due to trailer placement.

Q: How much time do I have to load and unload the trailer?

A: You have 48 hours to load and 48 hours to unload. Trailers detained for longer than 48 hours will incur a $100 charge per 24 hour period.

Q: Is there anything that I should not load into the trailer?

A. Yes. See the “Do Not Pack” list for specific guidelines.

Q: What areas do you serve?

A: Currently we serve 100% of the state of Montana and Salt Lake City, UT, Denver, CO and Spokane, WA. Contact us to see if we can assist you with a move to other locations.

Q: What about Insurance?

A: SIM provides standard liability of .10 per pound per piece up to $5,000 per trailer at no charge. We recommend you contact your insurance agent to see if your homeowner’s policy will cover your goods or to request a transportation “rider”.

Additional coverage for loss or damage due to carrier negligence is available as follows:

  • For a  $75.00 charge, your coverage would increase to $1.00 per pound per item up to a maximum of $18,000 per trailer.

  • For a $125.00 charge, your coverage would increase to $2.00 per pound per item up to a maximum of $36,000 per trailer.

  • For a $175.00 charge, your coverage would increase to $3.00 per pound per item up to a maximum of $54,000 per trailer.

Q: When do I pay?

A: Payment in full is required at the time your loaded trailer is picked up. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Certified checks and Money orders.
